Web Wonks is not your normal digital agency and we are quite proud of that fact. In the early years we were one of the very few companies that didn’t have contracts, we were one of the few that ensured our clients owned their accounts and data, and we were one of the very few who built real intellectual property and didn’t just do what Google told us.
As an analytics-first business, the road was hard going to start with. Not too many business owners understood the value of the data and our competitors had big sales teams and used big promises to convince people of dubious practices, but we persevered. Over time our model began to prove itself, based on trust and delivery of our work, the word got out and we built a roster of clients.
Importantly we invested in our staff! We never let the foot of the wage increase break. Why? Well, at the end of the day, Web Wonks is nothing without its people and as our most valuable asset we wanted to ensure our staff were the best paid in the industry. It's taken years, but we stand by our commitment to investing in training and higher salaries.
The biggest benefactor of our investment in our staff has been our clients. We have a very low client churn rate and we believe this is a direct result of our focus on transferring knowledge and empowering our clients to own their digital infrastructure.
We are proud of our Kiwi roots and as we grow into America, we will be sure to take the very best of New Zealand's culture with us.

Web Wonks New Zealand has always believed in giving back to the local community. In our early years, this was in-kind work, but in the more recent history we have sponsored organizations with direct support.
Our staff are generally altruistic by nature and give up their time in many ways to help out in their neighbourhoods. We believe leadership is born out of understanding the people you live and work beside and to that end, we like to get to know all walks of life.
Our multicultural workforce is a testament to our desire for diversity and openness.
While our 2023 sponsorship commitment is currently full, we will be open to new community groups in 2024.

In 2013, Web Wonks was asked to sponsor Paddle for Hope, a lively annual paddleboard event held at Viaduct Harbour.
Paddle for Hope aimed at raising funds for breast cancer recovery and support initiatives.
Web Wonks delivered digital marketing services to support the event in 2013.
The partnership allowed Web Wonks to contribute to a meaningful cause while connecting with participants and supporters who shared their passion for community engagement.
Web Wonks continued its support for sports and community engagement by sponsoring the NZ Breakers basketball team from 2014 to 2016. This strategic partnership showcased Web Wonks' commitment to promoting local talent and fostering a thriving sports culture in New Zealand.
In 2014, Web Wonks formed their three year association with the NZ Breakers, a formidable force in the Australian National Basketball League (NBL), by becoming a smaller sponsor delivering marketing support to drive membership and ticket sales. That year the team won the championship.
As the sponsorship continued into 2015, Web Wonks actively engaged with the NZ Breakers' fan base, helping to organizing events and contests that enhanced the basketball experience for supporters. This enabled the Breakers to engage with a diverse range of individuals, from die-hard fans to casual spectators, while further establishing their reputation as a community-focused organization.
The partnership extended into 2016, solidifying Web Wonks' role as a long-term supporter of the NZ Breakers. Their sponsorship contributed to the team's continued success and growth, helping them maintain their status as one of New Zealand's most beloved basketball franchises.

Thank you so much for your support. Thanks to your generosity, and the kindness of other New Zealanders just like you, we’ve funded some incredibly valuable initiatives at Starship during the last year.
They include:
• Ongoing funding for the Starship National Air Ambulance Service – a paediatric intensive care unit in the sky
• Snack and basic supply stations for staff navigating challenging work conditions during COVID restrictions
• Play Specialist support for children in Starship’s Radiology department, helping them navigate MRI and other procedures without the need for a disruptive general anaesthetic
• Surgical camera and video equipment for our Ear, Nose, and Throat clinic, helping them perform surgeries with a clarity and accuracy not previously possible.
Those projects have all made a significant difference for children like Marley, pictured below. He flew from Christchurch aboard our Air Ambulance to Starship with his life hanging in the balance. Thanks to our wonderful staff, and the kindness of supporters like you, he’s back at home living a happy, fulfilling life. We look forward to creating better health and brighter futures for our children with you this financial year and beyond.
In 2022 and 2023 Web Wonks continued its commitment to supporting community sport by sponsoring North Harbour Rugby. Web Wonks has been proud to sponsor sporting organizations for many years and moved beyond in-kind sponsorship into direct financial support.
The sponsorship provided Web Wonks with increased brand exposure and recognition, while investing much needed investment into the community game. We were the back of jersey sponsor for #13.
In 2022 Web Wonks specifically invested $1500 in all 12 rugby clubs within the North Harbour region.
Web Wonks' sponsorship of North Harbour Rugby exemplifies a commitment to supporting local sports, nurturing talent, and fostering a sense of pride and unity within the rugby community. The partnership continues to strengthen the game at both the grassroots and professional levels.
As a Senior Rugby ref for 11 seasons, our CEO Jeff is proud to give time and energy back to his community. Believing that refereeing provides a much-needed energy outlet at the end of the week, while also stimulating the senses every Saturday, it was a natural fit to financially support the North Harbour Rugby Referees Association.
North Harbour Rugby referees are integral to the game, ensuring fair play and upholding the rules. Their expertise and dedication contribute to the success of the sport and Web Wonks is proud to support the Association.
